This section of the site will be dedicated to coffee reviews looking at the history behind different cultivars and cultivators.

Arabica coffee was the first species to be cultivated. The practice began in Yemen in the 12th-century and soon spread to Egypt, Turkey and then the world.

The Arabic word ‘qahwah’ became ‘kahve’ in Ottoman Turkish which in turn became ‘koffie’ in Dutch. From there the English word ‘coffee’ first appeared in 1582.
